The fact that Emmett Till’s memorial sign was shot up is so evil & depressing, I can’t even wrap my head around it.

On August 24, 1955, fourteen-year-old Emmett Till was visiting relatives in Money, Mississippi, when he reportedly flirted with a white cashier at a grocery store. Four days later, two white men kidnapped Till, beat him and shot him in the head. The men were tried for murder, but an all-white, male jury acquitted them.
NOW THE MEMORIAL, RIDDLED WITH BULLETS, AND STANDS AS A REMINDER THAT RACISM STILL EXISTS IN AMERICA.
This means that we The People and World Citizens have to do a better job in teaching the benign vestiges of racism and treat them as cancer. We can fight this cancer by educating each other about the African Diaspora in America and around the world. If we understand people like Emmet Till there would be no need for violence or vandalism around the world.
